Hi. I'm Colleen Albanese of the admissions office. You may remember me from the previous video segment. Today I'm here to talk about transfer credit. As I mentioned in the first segment, Excelsior College really tries to maximize our students' prior college credits. We are more than happy to accept courses from colleges and universities that are accredited. If the course content matches up with our degree requirements, we are more than happy to work credit for that course. A common question we hear in the admissions office is, what are the time limits on the general education requirements? For the most part, there are no time limits on the requirements. However, specific to the anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and information literacy, core requirement credits, those credits must be earned within five years of our students' enrollment date. Another major source of transfer credit comes from proficiency exams. Many of our students earn credits through the CLEP exams, DANTES exams, of course, Excelsior College exams, and UExcel exams. This is one of the most economical and flexible way for our students to earn credits.
