Hi, I'm Christina Roarke, director of financial aid, at Excelsior College. We've been receiving lots of questions regarding financial aid eligibility for our associate degree in nursing program students. And I'd like to take just a couple of minutes to answer some of those questions for you. The biggest question is, am I eligible for financial aid? And I have an answer for that. Currently, our exams are not eligible for federal aid, otherwise known as Title IV financial aid. But our course option is, so courses you take here, you could potentially be eligible for federal aid. There are other types of financial aid eligibility. And that includes New York State aid, as well as scholarships through Excelsior College and also outside scholarships. You may ask the question, what should I do to start this process, to find out what I'm eligible for. So the first and most important thing that we advise students to do is file something called the FAFSA. And that's the free application for federal student aid. And you're going to go directly to the Department of Education's website to complete this free form. It's www.fafsa.ed.gov. And what you'll need to complete that form, you should be prepared with your previous year's tax returns as well as your license. You use those to complete the form. And at the end of the FAFSA, you'll indicate a code. That's our federal school code. That code tells the Department of Education to send us that FAFSA. Once we get that electronically, we're going to start communicating to you immediately. We're going to tell you if there's additional documents that we need from you or additional steps that we need you to take to ensure that we can go ahead and package you for any type of aid that you may be eligible for. I hope this information has been helpful. I know you may have additional questions especially after hearing that information. Please feel free to reach out to us. You can contact us via phone. Feel free email us, or reach out to us via social media. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
